At the end of 2024, BPS Magelang City held a Focus Group Discussion on Evaluation of Field Implementation and Socialization of Hotel Statistical Data for Magelang City in 2024 (19/12). Taking place at RM Kebon Semilir, this activity was packaged interestingly by presenting three speakers, namely Mufida Rahmalaila (Junior Statistician of BPS Magelang City), Dr. Yetty Setiyaningsih, SP., M.Eng. (Head of Infrastructure and Regional Economics Division of Bapperida City of Magelang), and Agustin Warinangin (Main Director of the Borobudur Authority Implementing Agency). The three speakers reviewed tourism and the accommodation services business from different angles.
BPS Magelang City explains the collection and presentation of Hotel Statistics data. Meanwhile, the Bapperida resource person explained how statistical data is used in regional development planning. Meanwhile, material from BOB describes the closely related relationship between tourism and accommodation service businesses.
Most of the invitees were representatives of hotels in Magelang City who were respondents in the VHTS survey or better known as the monthly hotel report survey. It is hoped that after understanding the importance of Hotel Statistics data, the data producers are committed to always providing accurate data that is useful for advancing Indonesia.
Apart from that, there were also representatives from the Magelang City Youth, Sports and Tourism Department, and the Economic Section of the Magelang City Secretariat which is related to the Magelang City Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) in the tourism sector.
