Abstract

Magelang city in January 2016 experienced a 0.40 percent inflation by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 121.96 higher than in December 2015 by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 121.47. Inflation occurs mainly due to the price increase resulted in the increase in the index in the clothing group 2.10 percent, processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 1.25 percent, housing, water, electricity, and fuel 1.20 percent, health group by 0.49 percent, education, recreation and sport 0.10 percent. While deflation is the transportation, communication and financial services 0.70 percent and 0.84 percent foodstuffs.
